    The 2019 Elementary Summer Learning Program will provide 1st through 5th grade students with a Project-Based Learning Experience that is STEM-based and includes experiential community field trips. The program will run Monday - Wednesday 8:30 am - 11:50 am (STEM Days) and 8:30 am - 3:00 pm on Thursdays (Field Trip Day) from June 10th through July 18th, 2019. (There are no classes the week of July 1 - 5, 2019). The program will take place at the following sites: Aspen Creek, Whittier, Flatirons, Crest View, Douglass, and Sanchez.

    The 2019 Middle Level Summer Learning Program will provide rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) based activities and Experiential Community Field Trips. The program will run Monday - Wednesday 9:30 am - 12:50 pm (STEM Days) and 9:30 am - 4:00 pm on Thursdays (Field Trip Day) from June 10th through July 18th, 2019. (There are no classes the week of July 1 - 5, 2019). The program will take place at the following sites: Centaurus, Aspen Creek, Casey, and Louisville.

    Each Site Teacher Leader will work with the Summer Learning Program Administrator to oversee all aspects of programming at their assigned site. Duties include, but are not limited to: hiring teachers; developing and implementing staff meetings; coordinating supervision and instruction; supervising the summer food service program at the site; supervising transportation, monitoring the attendance and discipline of students; implementing the parent engagement program; meeting with parents as needed; coordinating and documenting the issuance and collection of materials and supplies, evaluating teachers and staff, supervising the delivery of the curriculum, instruction, lunch, recess, and bus duties and other duties as assigned.


    - Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement (or licensure application in process with CDE)
    - Completed and submitted BVSD online application

    - CPI Certificate
    - CLD or CLD Bilingual Endorsement
    - Bilingual in Spanish/English
    - Previous experience as teacher leader or building administrator
    - Strong written and verbal communication skills
    - Strong planning, organization, management, budget and evaluation skills
    - Strong technology skills
    - Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with the summer leadership team
    - Demonstrated excellence in knowledge of effective instructional methodology
    - Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents/families

    Salary: This is a stipend position for $7,595.25. This will include oversight of one site as well as preparation and planning of an estimated 187 hours (113 hours during summer academy and 74 hours for planning and preparation prior to summer program start).
